Privacy policy

This notice explains what personal data The AI Prompt Builder collects, why, and the rights you have. It is written for India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. The “data fiduciary” responsible for your data is [owner's legal name], trading as The AI Prompt Builder, [business address in India]. What we collect, and why

Data	Why we use it
Name, email address, mobile number, country, gender and date of birth, given at sign-up. Your password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.	To create your account and let you log in; to confirm your email and mobile number with one-time codes; to check you are 18 or older; to contact you about your account.
What you type, and the prompts we write for you	To write your prompt. For accounts, to save it to your history so you can find, copy, refine or reuse it. Guests’ prompts aren’t saved.
Your internet (IP) address and when prompts were written	To apply prompt allowances (such as the free prompt for guests) and to stop misuse.
Account activity: log-ins, failed log-ins, sign-ups, codes sent and password resets, with the email or number typed, time, internet address and a short device description such as “Chrome on Windows”	To help you when you contact us, to protect accounts and to spot break-in attempts. Passwords and one-time codes are never recorded.
Requests declined under our content rules	To review misuse and enforce our terms.
Checks on your email and phone number (throwaway or duplicate email, internet phone number)	To keep free prompts fair: one free account per person.
Membership records and purchase history: dates, amounts, the payment provider, and the customer, subscription and payment numbers it gives us	To provide your membership and show your purchases on your Account page, and for tax records. We never see or store your card or UPI details.

We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t send marketing emails.

Your consent

By creating an account you consent to us using your data for the purposes above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or by writing to support@thepromptbuilder.ai; withdrawing is as easy as giving consent. After you withdraw, we stop using your data and delete it, except what we must keep by law (see “How long we keep it”). Without an account you can still use the site as a guest.

Who processes it for us

Anthropic (Claude, United States): what you type is sent to Anthropic’s API to write your prompt. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic doesn’t use it to train its models.
Google Cloud: hosts the website.
Neon: stores the database (accounts and history).
Zoho (Zoho Mail and ZeptoMail): sends emails with codes and handles support email.
Twilio or an Indian text-message provider: sends the code to your mobile number at sign-up and checks the number’s type.
Cloudflare (Turnstile): checks that a visitor is a person, not a bot, using signals from your browser.
Payment providers (Creem, and Razorpay for payments in India): take payments and handle taxes. They have their own privacy policies for the details you give at checkout.

Some of these providers process data outside India, including in the United States, Canada, Singapore and the European Union. Each is bound by contract to use it only to provide its service to us. We will follow any restriction the Government of India places on transfers to particular countries.

How long we keep it

Account details and saved prompts: until you delete them or your account.
Unfinished sign-ups and one-time codes: deleted automatically within a day.
Account activity records and declined-request records: 1 year, then deleted. We keep these for at least a year, as the Rules require, even if you delete your account.
If you delete your account: a scrambled (hashed) form of your email address and mobile number, for 1 year, only so the free prompts can’t be claimed again. Your actual email and number can’t be read from it.
Payment records: as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

See a summary of the data we hold about you and how we use it. Your details and purchases are on your Account page.
Correct, complete or update your data: change your email, mobile number, country, gender and password on your Account page. To correct your name or date of birth, write to us.
Erase your data: delete any saved prompt or all of them from your History page, or write to us from your account’s email address and we’ll delete your whole account.
Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
Complain to us: write to support@thepromptbuilder.ai or to our grievance officer, [owner's legal name] (support@thepromptbuilder.ai). We answer within 90 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

People in other countries may have further rights under their local law, which we’ll respect.

Age

Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we’ll delete it.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie that keeps you logged in, remembers the theme you picked and protects forms against forgery. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and the site’s fonts are served by us, not by a third party.

Security and breaches

Pages are served over an encrypted connection, passwords and codes are stored only in scrambled form, repeated wrong passwords pause sign-in, and only you can see your history. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India without delay, with what happened and what you can do.

Changes

If we change this notice in a significant way, we’ll tell account holders by email or on the site before the change takes effect.
